Tillverkning är en av de största sektorerna i EU-taxonomin och täcker 16 ekonomiska verksamheter inom ett brett spektrum av industriell produktion. Från cement och stål till batterier och vätgas adresserar denna sektor de mest koldioxidintensiva värdekedjorna i den europeiska ekonomin.
Varje tillverkningsverksamhet har egna tekniska granskningskriterier. Beroende på verksamheten kan kriterierna gälla utsläppsintensitet, materialeffektivitet, produktprestanda eller möjliggörande funktioner; detaljerna finns i den gällande delegerade akten.
Kriterier för cirkulär ekonomi kan gälla vissa tillverkningsverksamheter och bör kontrolleras verksamhet för verksamhet. När ett tillämpligt DNSH-kriterium för klimatanpassning hänvisar till bilaga A ska bedömningen av fysiska risker vara proportionerlig i förhållande till verksamhetens omfattning och förväntade livslängd; det innebär inte ett generellt krav för varje produktionsanläggning.
