Energisektorn utgör kärnan i EU:s avkarboniseringsstrategi och är en av de mest detaljerade sektorerna i taxonomin. Med 15 berättigade verksamheter täcker den hela energivärdekedjan - från produktion genom transmission och distribution till lagring.
Förnybara energikällor inklusive solceller, land- och havsbaserad vindkraft, vattenkraft och geotermisk energi omfattas, tillsammans med möjliggörande infrastruktur som elnät, fjärrvärmenät och batterilagring. De tillämpliga kriterierna för varje verksamhet anger livscykelutsläppströsklar och villkor; kontrollera det officiella verksamhetsregistret för aktuell lydelse.
Anpassningskrav för energiinfrastruktur är verksamhetsspecifika. När tillämpliga kriterier hänvisar till bilaga A bör operatörer dokumentera en proportionerlig bedömning av väsentliga fysiska risker och anpassningslösningar; verksamhetsregistret avgör omfattningen.
