Bygg och fastighet är en av de mest granskade sektorerna i EU-taxonomin. Byggnader står för cirka 40 % av EU:s energiförbrukning och 36 % av de energirelaterade CO2-utsläppen, vilket gör denna sektor avgörande för att uppnå klimatneutralitetsmålen.
De sju verksamheterna täcker hela byggnadens livscykel: uppförande av nya byggnader med nära-nollenergibehov, renovering av befintliga byggnader med betydande energiprestandaförbättringar, installation av energieffektivitetsutrustning, laddinfrastruktur för elfordon, energimätnings- och styrenheter, förnybar energiteknik på plats samt förvärv och ägande av regelefterlevande fastigheter.
När de tillämpliga kriterierna för en verksamhet hänvisar till bilaga A är dess tre bedömningssteg proportionerliga i förhållande till verksamhetens storlek och förväntade livslängd: granska faror i den indikativa, icke uttömmande minimilistan, bedöma väsentlighet och därefter bedöma anpassningslösningar. Platsspecifika underlag, inklusive CFD, kan valfritt stödja bedömningen när lokala risker är väsentliga; taxonomin föreskriver ingen modelleringsmetod.
